“Send Nudes” is an ongoing project that aims to look for self-care(1) and self-confidence(2) through vulnerability(3) and images(4). This project is for women, non-binary and trans people.
(1)Self-care
the practice of taking an active role in protecting one's own well-being and happiness, in particular during periods of stress.

Taking time to look at yourself
Taking time to look at yourself through a camera lens, to sit down, look at your body in ways that you don’t usually, this action takes time and strength. Building confidence in yourself starts with accepting the house you live in; your body.
This project aims to walk the participants through the process of looking at themselves naked, taking time to accept the way the picture is taken, the way their body looks. Take the time to pose, find the way, the better way, the better place, the better space, and then, turn it into art.
I tell people who participate in this project that they do not need to send the picture. The most important part of the project is when you take time to look at yourself, be vulnerable with yourself, listen to that fear and understand it.

It might help you grow out of it, cherish that vulnerability and listen to where that fear is coming from.
Hopefully after this project, participants will keep on taking selfies and pictures, looking and talking to their bodies in a more positive way. Making friends with it.
The aim is to empower women, non-binary and trans people as they take time to strengthen their self-love through pictures and art in these vulnerable times.

I like to think we are using the pandemic to grow against the patriarchal stereotypes that oppress us in the outside world, these naked bodies are not shown to sell, to objectify or to sexualize.
